PS 219 Alumni Entrance 1957-1964
I have always had an interest in taking photos since the age of 14. My first camera was a Polaroid Camera that gave you instant pictures. Later on I stepped up to the plate with a Canon T1 which I studied B&W processing privately. As color printers improved and digital cameras came down in price, I still chose to stick with film photography and bought myself a Nikon 4000ED film scanner. The are many articles comparing digital to film prints but overall film remains king. Nevertheless, since I'm using my Epson 2200 printer and computer for processing prints, Adobe Photo Shop is an absolute to have. Currently My daughter and I invested in a Nikon D70 Digital Camera with a 24mm-85mm "ED" AF-S "G' lens & the 28mm-200mm "ED" AF-S "G" lens.
As of April 1st 2007, I made a wise investment in the Nikon DX2S SLR Digital Camera along with two Nikkor Professional Lenses being the 17-55mm F2.8 DX & 70-200mm F2.8 VR lenses. I also upgrade my Epson to the Epson 3800 Printer. This enables me to make prints 17" wide. As of Feb 2008, I've added the Nikon D300 to the arsenal of Nikon Bodies and purchased the Nikkor 80-400mm F/4.5, Nikkor 105mm F/2.8 Macro & Nikkor 85mm F/1.4. My (@) Nikon Flashes: SB-800 both use the Gary Fong P1 and C1 Diffusers. My Photo Gallery is here: http://www.eyefetch.com/profile.aspx?user=Alan_Russell
Making the transition to digital has its advantages and we both hope to better our skills at photography utilizing this new camera. I have also invested in a wonderful Digital Video Camera the Sony DCR-VX2100, 3 CCD MINI DV CAMCORDER,12X OPTICAL/48X DIGITAL ZOOM,2.5" LCD SCREEN, COLOR VIEWFINDER. This camera is awesome with great results!
